2022 Cadillac XT6 vs 2022 Lincoln Aviator - Choosing a Luxury SUV in Ottawa

Two of the big players in the luxury mid-size three-row SUV battle are the 2022 Cadillac XT6 and 2022 Lincoln Aviator. Both offer power, performance, refinement, and space, but with more standard features and a significantly lower price tag, the XT6 has the upper hand over the Aviator.

Models and Pricing - XT6 vs Aviator

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 is offered for sale in Ottawa and across Canada in three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. Starting at $57,998, even the entry-level Luxury trim provides a host of driver-assistance and high-tech features.

The 2022 Lincoln Aviator is offered in Ottawa in only one gas-powered model--the Reserve. Starting at $67,900, the Aviator is almost $10,000 more expensive than the XT6 and does not offer near as many standard features.

Performance - XT6 vs Aviator

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 offers two engine options. The standard engine is a 237-hp turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, and the upgraded version is a 310-hp V6. Both pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Incredibly agile, the XT6 is all about responsiveness and comfort.

Lincoln powers the 2022 Aviator with a twin-turbo V6 engine that pairs with a 10-speed transmission to deliver 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Though more powerful than the XT6, the Aviator's engine is not as refined.

Size - XT6 vs Aviator

There is room for seven passengers in the 2022 Cadillac XT6, which provides 2,228 litres of max cargo space behind the first row and 944 mm of third-row headroom. The third row of the XT6 is usable for passengers of all sizes and ages, unlike the Aviator, which only offers 2,200 litres of max cargo space and whose third row is suitable only for children.

Safety Features - XT6 vs Aviator

In terms of safety, Cadillac provides front and rear park assist, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, front pedestrian braking, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and rear cross traffic alert as standard on the 2022 XT6.

Lincoln provides forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assistance on the 2022 Aviator, but its Lincoln Co-Pilot360 1.5 suite of driver-assistance technology is an extra $6,500 on top of the Aviator's high price tag.

Choosing a 2022 Cadillac XT6 in Ottawa

The 2022 Lincoln Aviator might have a more powerful engine, but to get an Aviator with all the standard features that Cadillac provides to the 2022 XT6 will cost drivers over $16,000 more. It will also not be as spacious or as luxurious inside. For these reasons, and many more, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 is the luxury mid-size three-row SUV to choose in Ottawa.
